How Your Voice Can Have The Impact of 10,000 |
People often wonder, "What difference can
I make?"
Legislators consider a meeting with you to represent the view of 10,000 other Constituents. So it is extremely worthwhile to take an hour and visit your legislators local office near your home. It is fast, easy and they want to meet with you and hear your views and concerns.
One Stewards member took the time to meet with his local
legislator, Senator Bill Morrow, to discuss his concerns
regarding closures of OHV trails and Wilderness. As a result
of this meeting Senator Morrow drafted a
letter in
support of OHV recreation and opposing inappropriate
Wilderness.
If you ever wondered whether you can
make a difference, now you know you can. Hopefully more folks
will take the time to meet with their legislators and ask them to
support Multiple Use, OHV recreation and stop inappropriate Wilderness
Designation.

Depending on what you want to talk
with your legislator about, please be sure to take a copy of the
Stewards Trail Plan Alternative, or Stewards letter opposing
inappropriate Wilderness or
Stewards Roadless Report along
with you, as well as a copy of
Senator Morrow's letter and leave
them with your legislator. Ask your legislator to provide a
letter indicating their support for Multiple Use, OHV recreation and opposing
further closures.
You can meet with your legislator on
any issue. It is important to build a relationship with them, so
they are aware of what is important to you and how they can best
represent you.
